Just as Ed created this evening, he also created the opening band, The Tunz. Ed, with his Pete Townshend-inspired stage antics was the lead vocalist and played lead guitar. Senior Mike Torkelson played keyboards, Sophomore Brian Berry played the bass guitar and Senior Ken “Animal” Hunt played the drums (of course). The band also included Andover Sophomore Sunil Sinha on rhythm. It is still tentative as to whether or not The Tunz will stay together.
Following the opening act, members of the WBFH staff drew numbers in order to raffle off T-shirts and a Walkman-style radio. Then, with a warm opening by Kevin McCort, The Crisco Band made its return appearance, Wild Bill Chrisman sang and played lead guitar. Kevin McCourt also sang and played keyboards. Todd Skrceny played the drums superbly, and the reunion of the band was made complete with the return of Rob Matson. Rob, now a student at the University of Michigan, played bass guitar and offered back-up vocals.
In conclusion, the evening was a pleasant experience. The members of the audience were presented with a show that was well worth their donation to the worthy cause of ridding the world of birth defects.
